Food was always part of my value system. Family recipes and traditions of spaghetti Sundays. Traveling to see friends and family in other states and countries. “Kitchens in Connecticut”, as my sister and I would say on the way to see family.
Where does all the best conversation happen? In the kitchen, of course!
And that followed me into adulthood and influenced why I became a licensed counselor.
When I came out as queer and nonbinary, it was harder to find supportive community and consistency, yet cooking became one of those stable forces I knew would be there for me. While I learned about mental health, ACT therapy, and the benefits of compassionate counseling, I knew the kitchen was where I was most comfortable and was eager to share that space with others.
I operate with a mission of quality enhancement for my clients, and for myself. Life has so many struggles, and especially for my LGBTQIA+ family, having a loving meal can feel out of touch or even undeserved.
I invite you to join me and claim your kitchen as a safe space to start living your life, one meal and session at a time.
